Autumn Portraits

It's that time of year again, contact me today to book an autumn portrait session. This is personally my favourite time of year, especially for outdoor portraits. For your family, or just for yourself. There are many great outdoor spaces in Winnipeg, and I will travel to your favourite one to use natures wonderful colours as a backdrop for your portraits. They make a fantastic Christmas card photo! I'd also like to remind my readers that I do pet portraits too!

Annalyn and Hugo

I had so much fun shooting for Annalyn and Hugo.  Their family and friends were so nice!  It was a fantastic spring wedding.  We had very unsusual weather for Winnipeg in the spring.  I'LL TAKE IT!  I want to take the time to thank Annalyn and Hugo for choosing me as their photographer!

German Shepherd

This is a portrait of Charlee during her first trip to the lake. She had a blast, and didn't destroy too much stuff. Everyone needs a hobby I guess. She learned to swim, and collected many wood ticks to bring home.

I thought today that our pup was finally starting to calm down. She let me get close enough, and gave me enough time to get a decent composition for this photograph this morning. She set me straight tonight though.  She went nuts for no apparent reason barking for a good solid 10 minutes outside. When we let her in, she ran from one window to the other bouncing off people, and couches alike. Back and forth, back and forth. She is the best dog in the world, but she's loopy sometimes.

Charlee

Well, it has been a very busy couple of months, but Charlee is doing quite well, and having a blast.  She has learned many commands, but she still decides what ones she wants to obey, and which ones she will ignore.  We have had a few visits to the dog park now, and she seems to be getting socialized quite well.  I look forward to her next encounter with my brother's dog.  The last time they met, she spent most of her time cowering under the bushes.

The Blind Bandurist Player

This is one of those photos where I found meaning in the lens.  To me, this image has contrasting themes.  On one hand you have a man, sitting amidst all this visual beauty, colour, and form.  The sorrow flows like tears, in the misty drops on his skin.  For a moment, you may consider, his sadness is not for himself, he is playing music, the notes flow, with beauty, colour, and form.  Perhaps the tears are for you.  You are deaf to his melody.

This is my interpretation of this sculpture situated in the Leo Mol sculpture garden, inside Assiniboine Park, in Winnipeg.  Leo moved me.  I hope you find meaning too.

Pratt's Food Service

My photography was published in February's edition of Your Food Service Manager magazine. Pratt's Food Service in Winnipeg was due for a spot in the magazine. I shot the guys, the showroom, and the pride of Pratt's, Bistro 101. Check the article on page 39 for details about Pratt's Food Service.

Available light.

Available light can go a long way towards defining shape and texture of a subject. The advantage of portable lighting, is that I can bring that sort of light with me, wherever I go. I have recently invested in off camera lighting equipment, to gain more full control over light direction, brightness, and intensity. Speaking of intensity, look at those eyes!
